Ukitake demands you all join D8< Especially Hitsugaya
To the kind captain every day did seem like a celebration, something to be treasured and valued, but it seemed on this day he really did have a reason to celebrate. Namely this human celebration known as 'holloween', from what he knew about the celebration it was a time when humans gave out candy to one another. In Ukitake's mind this celebration just seemed so.... perfect! It was already a well known fact that the white haired captain had a serious tendency for giving out confectionery, usually to a certain short captain, when doing this though he really had no reason for it other than to be kind.... Now though... Well, now he had the perfect excuse to give all the candy he wanted to Hitsugaya, him and any other he managed to get his hands of. Very honestly he felt a genuine celebration was in order, why? Well lets answer that with the question of why not. To Ukitake events like this were a near perfect way to bring people together, hohoho this was absolutely perfect! All he had to do was get things read and then try and bring as many people to him as he could, that would perhaps be the hardest part, he had a feeling that one or two certain individuals may not exactly be all that willing to turn up if he were to tell them what the whole story.
With a chuckle he rubbed the back of his neck, first he was going to have to get everything ready, that would be his priority. Tapping a finger against his chin a broad grin spread across his face, due to the fact he always seemed to be inches from throwing a full blown party he really did have just about everything he needed. It also helped that being the primary connection with the human world he had many artifacts from there, including the wonder of balloons! Ah it was perfect really, it would probably take him what, an hour tops? Perhaps not even that if he really were to put his mind to it. His first issue though was perhaps trying to determine where exactly to set up this whole thing, it couldn't really be somewhere to out of the way, carrying various things around was not that great of an idea. Yet at the same time it did need to be large enough to accommodate any number of people that he managed to get to come. There was one place that stood out as suitable to the captain, his squad's training grounds. The added bonus to this was that asking people to meet at such a place as all the more likely to come~
Scurrying off he gathered a bundle of supplies into his arms he soon ended up charging to the grounds in a fashion that would put many people to shame, although to be fair it did earn him on or two funny looks from people in his squad who'd been training up until the point their captain ran past them laden with what looked like party goods. Surprisingly though they chose not to question his motives on the matter, it seemed that over the years many had just come to expect such behavior from their captain, it was who he was and perhaps a part of the reason that they liked him. What wasn't surprising, to Ukitake at least, was the fact that near as soon as he arrived in his training grounds people had already cleared the area leaving none in the training grounds but Ukitake himself. Placing everything down in the center he gave a holler for a few members of his squad to come to him, which of course they did with incredible promptness. From there he quickly directed them to start fetching tables and all else he needed, of course he followed and gave aid on the matter, he had no intention of leaving it all to others. It was just a simple fact that the more hands you had to carry things around the faster you would be in getting everything ready.
Perhaps it hadn't taken as long as he'd expected, either way it didn't much matter since near everything had been set up promptly. Food was set up, drinks laid out, it really was all but done. With his connections to a certain family he'd even been able to gain some fireworks for the use of tonight... Tonight... Yes, it really would be best to have this whole thing done at night, which was what? Well he couldn't say he exactly knew, but he knew it wouldn't be that long. That could work nicely. With a mild chuckle he soon ordered yet another of his squad to get the word around that there was an 'important meeting' being held at the thirteenth squads training grounds. Who would actually come he couldn't say, by no means could he make someone turn up, but no doubt people would in fact come, curiosity always did seem to get the best of people, and no doubt the message and pressure of a captain's shikai would cause such. “All waves, rise now and become my shield,” he started, a smile to his face and both hands upon his blade's hilt. “Lightning, strike now and become my blade, sogyo no Kotowari~” Splitting the blade into two he swung the right blade through the air, a thick fog spreading out as he did. Who needed a smoke machine when you had a zanpakuto~? HAPPY HALLOWEEN

Post by Kenpachi Zaraki on Oct 31, 2009 13:26:49 GMT -5
It was in the late afternoon, and quite dark too, for a reason most people would not know. Kenpachi was one of them, he did not know, nor care why it was darker today than yesterday or the day before. All that mattered to him, was that at this time, it was time for his afternoon nap. Kenpachi always took an afternoon nap unless something either very important, or very exciting was taking place. And important for him meant strong opponents and exciting meant enjoyable battles, he did not take much interest in anything out of that category. Why should he?
Walking into his room in the 11th Division barracks, Kenpachi walked into the middle of the room. Letting out a small yawn, Kenpachi sat on his side then placed his zanpakuto in front of him. Afterwards he rested his head on his hand that was acting like a stand, closing his eyes, Kenpachi started to take his nap...
All of a sudden, his eyes became wide open as a sound entered his ears. His vision became clear and it was a member of the 13th Division appearing before him. Not giving the shinigami a chance to speak, Kenpachi looked quite annoyed. "You broke my nap. Why did you do that?" He questioned the shinigami in an aggravated tone, Kenpachi liked his naps. Shaking and nervous, possibly due to the fact that Kenpachi looked annoyed, the 13th Division shinigami spoke, "Sorry Captain Zaraki! I have came to bring you a message from Captain Ukitake, he said that an important meeting was taking place at the 13th Division's training grounds!"
Kenpachi's half closed eyes widened almost instantly. Important Meeting? Training grounds? Fighting? These words boomed in his head, if he was given a chance to fight a captain it would be extremely exciting and worth it! Even if a spar and not a full-fledged fight, a good fight is a good fight. "I see..." Kenpachi said with a smirk on his face, "Tell the guy I will be there soon."
The shinigami left the room, Kenpachi sat up properly, still smirking. Grabbing his zanpakuto in front of him, he stood up and exited the room. Taking the stairs down, he came to the first floor of the barracks, looking around, as ordered all of his members were training. They had to to maintain the title of "the most feared division", and even if it didn't show, Kenpachi was quite proud of that. Walking past all of the training members, Kenpachi exited the 11th Division barracks and started to make his way to the 13th Division barracks.
Taking the specific route towards the 13th Division, Kenpachi was thinking to himself, Maybe Byakuya, or Gin, any will do, they are all strong warriors. Kenpachi was thinking about which captain he wanted to fight, when his thoughts were interrupted by something he did not like to see. Multiple paths. Especially places he did not visit often, "Ugh...What was the way again?" Kenpachi asked himself, why did he have such a bad sense of direction? Stopping a passing shinigami, Kenpachi had to ask him, otherwise he would probably not make it.
"What way is it to the 13th Division training grounds?" Kenpachi asked, looking intimidating at the same time, I won't sound so bad asking that if I look scary.... The shinigami was intimidated as sweat dripped from his forehead, "That way sir!" The shinigami said quickly while pointing to the left. Looking the way he pointed, Kenpachi left the place he stood, for the training grounds!
Finally arriving, Kenpachi noticed all the smoke and was confused, he also sensed the power of Captain Ukitake's shikai. "Will I be fighting Ukitake?" Kenpachi said with a confused look, it was not like him to offer fights, although Kenpachi was aware he was very strong. Stepping through the smoke and into the middle of the grounds, Kenpachi's eyes widened in surprise.
A party?

Yachiru had wandered off while Kenpachi napped, getting herself lost, as usual. She'd been walking around aimlessly for a good deal of time, before she finally saw something of interest. She had finally located Kenpachi, who seemed to be heading somewhere. In the spirit of the spooky atmosphere, she simply followed him, not saying a word. She wanted to try and surprise him. Of course, she didn't think now was a good time to pop out.
She settled for following him, quietly, or as quiet as she could be. The lieutennant frowned ever so slightly as Kenpachi stopped and asked for directions. She almost giggled at the look he gave the poor man he'd stopped, but held it in, silently chuckling instead. She wasn't going to give up the game yet. So, she continued to follow him. It was indeed a strange thing to see Kenpachi leave a nap to do something.
The smoke made her a little scared, but at the same time, she figured it was a wonderful way to hide. She grinned as she crept towards Kenpachi, waiting untill she was close enough to squeal "Keeeeennn-chaaaaaannnn" At him, hopping up, hoping to get a reaction from him. She looked around carefully, still completely unaware of what was going on.
Not that it mattered, it felt important, and she had that sense of anticipation one gets before something fun is about to begin. She smiled, looking up at Kenpachi. Wether or not the actually noticed where she was, or realized any bit of what might happen, she didn't show. All that she knew was something fun was probably going to happen, and Kenpachi was here.

[ ooc: ....you evilevil woman ;_; ]
As the white haired captain sat at his desk, he shuffled through reports and drummed his fingers on the wooden desk. What a bore. He hated reading paperwork. It wasn't fun, it was a chore, and last he checked, chores were not fun. Once he finished reading a report, he took a small brush and dipped it in the inkwell. Okay, so, better sign it off. He stroked his name at the bottom of the paper and put it to the side. He repeated the process for at least four hours. Though to be honest, it did keep his mind off of other annoyances, such as a certain lazy Lieutenant who almost never does her work. Goddamn, that bothered him a whole lot. Hitting the papers against the best to even them out, he heard a knocking at the door. With a small grunt, Hitsugaya put the papers to the side and rested his head on his hand, his elbow supporting them both. A bored expression was etched on his face.
"Yeah?" He sounded with a unamused tone. "Come in."
Another Soul Reaper entered the room and bowed before the younger captain. In response, the young Captain sat up straight with a sigh. This better be good. His mind wanted it to be something direly important. He was in the middle of his work and now he was interrupted by... whoever he was. Though the message seemed important enough to be interrupted. He raised a white brow as the officer spoke. 'My apologize sir, but the captain of squad 13 is holding an important meeting. He has invited you and your squad to come and join him and the other officers. Oh jeeze. He had to deal with that old white-haired man and other old, whiny men. It was so obnoxious. He stood and grabbed the green sash of his long zanpakuto and clipped the two ends together. He looked at the subordinate.
"I'll be right there then." He said seriously.
With that, the other officer walked out of the room, and Hitsugaya followed suit. He looked back at his desk for a quick moment before closing the door behind him. Hm, wonder why Ukitake was holding a meeting? The walk wasn't that long, to be frank. It was a rather quick walk from the tenth to the thirteenth, although he had to go to the training grounds of the thirteenth. That wasn't that far off either. It was like, right there. Keeping his hands to his sides, the short captain walked in and made his way to the back were the spacious grassland was. He slid open the door and stepped out. Wait what the hell? Hitsugaya blinked his cyan green eyes in slight disturbance. Why... was there fog of all places. But what was this? He could sense the spiritual pressures, and they weren't all that far off. He sensed... Kenpachi of the eleventh... Ukitake, of course.... and Lieutenant Kusajishi. Who else? For now, he didn't feel anyone else.
Hitsugaya walked further into the fog, kind of wondering what the hell the meeting was supposed to be about? How to fix this fog problem? Hell no, might as well just go back to doing his paperwork now. He looked around, trying to find some figure, but the mist was making it hard to see. Though without paying attention, the short captain tripped over something hard. He fell forward and caught himself with his arms outstretched. The hell?! He stood and brushed himself off and grumbled. Damn... whatever that was. He turned and noticed a chair that had not been properly tucked with the table, and on the table, there was food. What was this, a get-together? A meeting was a meeting, not a little party where you could lay out food and hand them out at the end. He grumbled. What the hell was this?
"Hey Ukitake!" He yelled, kind of annoyed. "Cut to the chase already! I don't think we can conduct a proper 'meeting' if we're all wondering where the hell you are!"
What a bother. He rain his fingers through his dove hair before looking around for the other white-haired man. Or at least someone else. Okay, there was Captain Zaraki, standing there will all his grand ego and outrageous hair. Ch, you could mistake him for a tree. But was it really that hard to find a tall, long haired, white haired man with a white haori? No. But then why was it so hard now? This better not be a party. But there was this feeling that it was and he didn't necessarily like it either. He had work that he had to do and he didn't want to be interrupted by a stupid party. He huffed. He could never get his way, could he?

Post by Gin Ichimaru on Oct 31, 2009 15:42:45 GMT -5
The silver haired captain was having quite the time as he slunk through the nearly empty barracks. His socked feet making next to no noise as he slid through the halls. Due to the late hours he had left his haori in his office, it wasn't easy to stay hidden when you were bright white. He heard footsteps not far off and skittered off in that direction. It wasn't long before he found a member of squad thirteen. He grinned slightly and crept up behind them. "Looking for me?"
'Captain Ichimaru!?'
Seems they hadn't been expecting the captain wandering around his own barracks at this hour. "Yes, do you have news?" They bowed before straightening up.
'Yes sir! There's an important meeting at squad thirteens training grounds ordered by captain Ukitake.'
"A meeting?" He let out a small sigh, dragging his lengthy fingers through his hair. "So late, but I will attend." He grinned and glanced to them again. "Now run along." It didn't take the other long to comply, before the captain could even take a step he was gone. He nodded to himself and began on the trek back to his office. He slid the door open and with a swift motion grabbed the white fabric hanging over a chair. His thin fingers slipped through the arm holes, the white symbol of power sliding neatly into place. He straightened it slightly before closing the door once more. Harassing his squad could wait, for now.
As he took a step outside the fox-faced man instantly noticed the eerie feeling on the wind. He grinned and chuckled. He liked this strange weather fiasco. He began on his way towards the training grounds, taking his time. Sure they had said it was important, but he was in no rush. He felt no spiritual pressures out of the place, though it wasn't long before he could tell the Eleventh captain was on his way there. He truly was a frightening man, but then again many people in the third squad said the same about himself. So many seemed to be congregating to one spot. Perhaps this truly was important.
Ah, even the captain of squad ten was here. He couldn't help but laugh softly to himself. Ah how oblivious the world was. He folded his arms together, hands slipping into the opposite sleeve. Gripping his elbows lightly he found himself entering a cloud of fog. He struggled to see, but even he didn't need to open his seldom seen eyes. He strode through the fog, ignoring the damp air. "What an poor setting for a meeting." He pulled a hand out of his sleeve and began to draw shapes in the air, watching the fog twirl around his finger. His other hand rested on his hip.
'Cut to the chase already! I don't think we can conduct a proper 'meeting' if we're all wondering where the hell you are!'
Hmm, so the captain was getting his hair in a knot. He chuckled to himself and let his hand drag through the air, resting beside Shinsou.

Post by Mayuri Kurotsuchi on Nov 1, 2009 14:08:11 GMT -5
"No, no, that will never work!"
Mayuri was busy scribbling away with one hand while slicing into some sort of body part, it resembled a small part of a leg at the most, with the other hand. It was a wonder how the other captain could manage, but he was perfect. He felt that nothing was strange about doing two things at once-- in fact, he thought it was rather easy. Simple, almost. He kept scribbling while making a much slower slice into the part. Soon enough, he heard someone knocking on the door. Mayuri felt his fingers push down hard against the scapel he was using, pausing the incision he was making. He turned his head over his shoulder, giving the door a death glare first then saying loudly, with an equally loud sigh, "Hurry up now, I don't have all day!" With that, he turned his head back to the paper he was scribbling on. He set the pen down on the desk in front of him but kept the scapel's blade in the body part.
Finally, he heard the large metal door be pushed open into his office. Mayuri heard the heavy huffs of whoever had decided to interrupt him. "Aplogies, Captain Kurotsuchi--" Soon enough, he had paused in his sentence.
Mayuri quickly spun around, now facing the other, on his chair with arms crossed over his chest. The scapel had been left in the part, probably never to be touched again due to such a short attention span Mayuri sometimes had. The person who had busted in was someone from the 13th Division. This made him eye the member almost suspiciously before sneering at him, "Go on," His arms soon uncrossed and were soon resting on his lap. "I don't have all day, as you may have noticed, I am a very busy man." With that, he gave them a glare but still gave the other a sign to go on.
He could tell that the other was scared, though. Although amusing, he couldn't simply waste his time seeing this man shaking all day. So Mayuri quietly leaned back in his chest while staring at the other with that same glare until he decided to go on. Finally, the man continued from earlier, "C-Captain Kurotsuchi, I was told by my captain to tell you that you and your squad members are needed at a meeting at the 13th Division's training grounds." This made Mayuri perk his head up suddenly. So, he and his squad was needed at a meeting, huh? He found a smile pulling faintly at the corners of his mouth, but he managed to hold the smile back. Quietly, Mayuri turned around on his chair and looked back down at his desk. To his paper then to his small experiment. Mayuri wrapped his fingers around the scapel-- yanked it out and said quite calmly, "All right. I'll be there." Normally, he would decline such a request at first, but seeing as he had been stuck in this office for a rather long time-- he was quite bored. Even a meeting would have the chance of quenching his boredom. After answering, Mayuri looked once more over his shoulder and said evilly, "Now get out."
How amusing it was to see the other immediately run out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
Mayuri stood up, lazily dusting himself off and looking around. Right now, he wasn't quite in the mood to let his squad members take a break. He also wasn't in the mood to get Nemu to get her ass up, so he decided to go alone first. Maybe it if interested him enough, he would come back shortly and grab her. Right now, though, he made his way out of his office and down the long hallway, pass the large research room his squad members should be located in, and through the small room. Then he was out of the door that led to his division. Quickly, he halted his steps and looked around. He sighed, making an annoyed face and began walking-- remembering where the 13th Division was. Mayuri walked down the path, already feeling a few weird looks upon him due to him usually never being seen out. Even at such a late night. He looked up at the night sky-- dark. He lowered back down his head and kept moving. Mumbling to himself, "Such an idiotic time to hold a meeting..." Mayuri soon saw the training grounds up ahead.
At least, he was sure they were.
There was a rather large clump of fog surrounding and covering the grounds. Mayuri narrowed his eyes, thinking angrily to himself, That fool better have not wanted me to help out with this fog problem! Going on about how simply moronic this problem was, he barely even took the time to notice the other spiritual pressures of other captains. After his mind had silenced, though, he had felt them. There was that barbaric Zaraki (and that tag along Yachiru), that child Hitsugaya, and that all-smiles Gin. Then there was the man who had called them, Jushiro. He sighed, releasing out a 'tch' sound, crossed his arms and stepped through the fog. Mayuri managed to keep his distance away from the others while looking around. He had ignored all other voices he had heard, even though, he could hear Hitsugaya's complaining. Something told Mayuri, kept poking at him, that this truly wasn't a meeting. That he was actually tricked.
The only thing was... What else could this have been besides a meetin--
Finally realizing what this may have truly been, he threw his face into his palm and let out an unintentional loud groan.
What an idiot, to be tricked...!

Post by Yumichika Ayasegawa on Nov 2, 2009 10:59:59 GMT -5
Spite his captain's orders to play first then work, Yumichika was once more in the library, a stack of books between his left arm and side and the other hand placing book after book in an orderly fashion upon the shelf. The light was dim, not too bright but nor too dark. He wore a neutral expression over his features, stepping to the right some as he had to in order to continue placing books upon the large, brown shelves. His mind was elsewhere whilst he was still able to place the books in the correct fashion. He was wondering where Ikkaku was, probably off on some blood thirty "mission", if it were to even be called a mission. It was most likely just some sort of way for Ikkaku to vent, or if he wasn't angry (which he probably wasn't), just to kill if nothing else.
A small smile crossed his features. He had known that in the human world, there was a holiday in the happening which was called "Halloween". A time when you could dress up and hand out that of sweets such as chocolate and other candies to children. Of course, of all things, Yumichika definitely didn't expect for the candy-loving captain, Ukitake, to create a party for all that was willing to come. Though if he'd thought about it long enough, Yumichika would most likely realize that a party for Halloween, for candy, was always something captain Ukitake would be willing to go through with.
"..Excuse me, Yumichika..?" A male voice spoke his name hesitantly. Not afraid but in wonder if he was disturbing his thoughts. He was but Yumichika definitely wasn't angry about this. In fact, he was in a rather good mood. He turned his head, raven tendrils of hair moving gently in the air and his eyes growing a sheen of curiosity in them.
"Yes?" He asked, noting that it was another seated officer for another squad. He didn't realize which until he heard them speak again.
"Captain Ukitake of the thirteenth division has ordered a meeting at his training grounds, and has requested everyone to come." He nodded quietly to himself, as if making sure he had said all of that in a way to be understood. Yumichika at first tilted his head a bit before realizing the other was obviously not lying. It was just odd he supposed. The holiday of the human world never crossed his mind.
"Hmm." He turned his head back to the bookshelf, placing the last of the books neatly on them. He was taking his time, in no rush and the other, if he was, was not showing it. Yumichika then swiped his hands against each other, no dust leaving them but of course it was something he naturally did. "All right, I'll come." He finally agreed. He wasn't so sure of going to a party where Ikkaku wouldn't be simply because the man had gone somewhere else, but he knew everyone there if not but just faintly and it would seem rude not to come (spite him being that of beautiful, and should not have the need to come). He at least knew Yachiru well enough, if she were going to be there.
After the thirteenth division officer left him with a simple nod, Yumichika released a sigh.
"I probably should go ahead and go if it's that important." He spoke to himself. Really this meeting wasn't as important as he thought and rather then a meeting, it was more just a party of some sort. Either way, he left his spot at the library and began towards the Thirteenth Division barracks, towards the training ground. Within just getting there, he felt the strong spiritual pressure that could only belong to that of a captain, and not only that, but with their shikai out in the open. He started to go faster but as soon as he noted the fog, paused his steps. He lifted a hand to cover just above his eyes and squinted them through the fog.
"Ugh, this is not good for my hair or my lungs! Why is there so much fog?" He exclaimed quietly to himself, swiping then with his opposite hand at the fog. Of course fog most likely did not damage his lungs, but he over exaggerated on a lot of things. As soon as he began to walk again, he noted all the others who had arrived and then soon after all the tables with drinks and food on them.
He paused again.
This wasn't a "meeting". This was a party.

Post by Jushiro Ukitake on Nov 3, 2009 8:48:58 GMT -5
Ooc:// Ilu guys so much X'D Twirling one of his blades in an apparently jovial fashion the fog simply seemed to thicken, whilst this was of course his goal (for everything he wasn’t stupid enough to keep doing it if it had an effect detrimental to his desire), it was very quickly becoming even harder to see. His intentions were very for the fog to spread around the area, once that happened it would mostly just be at the level of your feet, thus removing any risk of walking into a tree, or something along those lines. Right now though this was not the case, all he seemed to be doing at this exact moment was making it incredibly hard for people to see. No doubt in all of this he’d be rendered all but invisible, a white haired captain in predominantly white clothes stood in fog, if using eyes alone it would be impossible to find him. This meant it really was a good idea that soul reapers could sense those around them, with his shikai out like this no doubt he stood out like a lantern in a cave, he didn’t mind either way, it wasn’t actually like he was specifically hiding from people. Stopping though he quickly snapped his head to the side, a smile ghosting across his face. Ahhh, it seemed it had worked, someone was coming~
"Will I be fighting, Ukitake?"
Ah, Zaraki. Really Ukitake should have expected this man to be the first to turn up here, he’d specified the training grounds and thus perhaps given the impression there would be a brawl of some sort. Oops~ “Ah, no, sorry,” he laughed out in his ever happy voice. Right now there wasn’t even anyone for the rough captain to fight, say for Ukitake himself. Whilst Jushiro was confident in his abilities he really didn’t hold any desire to fight with this man, not through fear of any form, rather the animal brutality the other captain showed was a bit... Hm... Off putting. Either way there was no hope of a fight tonight, not if Ukitake could help it, of course now that Zaraki was here there was a strong possibility he’d have no choice but to break on up he was sure it would be managed… Just as long as the rest of his squad didn’t turn up anyway. Whilst yes there was an invite to all, the hazel eyed captain didn’t want this to turn into some eleventh squad fight fest… That would be terrible! Not to mention his grounds would likely be utterly destroyed.
"Keeeeennn-chaaaaaannnn"
Shaking his head in amusement he couldn’t help but laugh, even if he’d not been able to sense the young girls energy he’d have known instantly who it was. Yachiru. Even though the girl wasn’t in his squad, nor someone that could be described as being overly close to him he did have a certain fondness for the little one, her bubbly personality could really bring a smile to the face of any, or at least so he thought. “Ah, Yachiru!” He exclaimed, his pleasure at seeing… Well, hearing her was evident. “I haven’t seen you for a while, I was starting to worry about you.” With a mild chuckle he shifted his stance somewhat, the charms on his blade’s rope ringing out slightly as they tapped together. “If you find me later tonight I’m sure I can find some candy for you~” That said he resealed his blade, two once more becoming just one as he sheathed Sogyo no Kotowari. He had the feeling there was very likely more than enough of the low hanging fog to last as long as needed, if not, well it didn’t take much for him to release his blade and give it a couple of swings. Really, it was all in the wrist.
"What a poor setting for a meeting."
So Ichimaru was here too? Wonderful, that was all to likely to add at least some life to the party. Whilst Ukitake didn’t actually know the captain all that well he was of course acquainted with the man, and whilst yes he was hard to understand he didn’t seem that bad when all was said and done. “Well now, that depends on the type of meeting,” he trilled, his words evidently alluding to something. “I find it rather appropriate.” That he did, what better way to celebrate something that was supposed to be ’spooky’ than in a fog shrouded area… One that was very literally full of dead people. There was very likely a joke in that whole thing if you bothered to look hard enough, but right now Ukitake’s main concern was waiting to see who was coming. And if he were right, which he likely was, his little white haired friend was on his way. That was most definitely good news. Scratching his chin slightly he wandered off through the fog he himself had put in place, now here was his problem. He himself would be incredibly hard to see, and he was by now means little, but Hitsugaya who matched him rather well was somewhat on the vertically challenged side right now. No doubt he’d be utter hell to find, even with his ability to sense energy this was turning out to be rather harder than expected, it was all good fun though.
"Hey Ukitake! Cut to the chase already! I don't think we can conduct a proper 'meeting' if we're all wondering where the hell you are!"
Annnnnd if it wasn’t the little troublemaker himself, the prodigy of the soul society, Toshiro Hitsugaya. Grinning at the boy’s comment he shook his head slightly and walked toward him, true he seemed bratty, ignorantly rude to someone far older than himself. But Ukitake really didn’t mind so much. Right now he was still a child, captain yes, but still a child, no doubt given a century or two he’d mellow himself down into a fine young man…. Or stay the same…. Either way~ “Sorry about that Shiro~” Going to put a hand on the boy’s shoulder he was evidently having the time of his life through all this. Perhaps many would say it was a mistake to call the ball of teenage rage by any form of nickname, he was notorious for his disapproval of anything but Captain Hitsugaya after all, but he’d done it on many an occasion before without repercussion, aggressive or not he wasn’t sure the boy was about to object now. “It’s good to see you came!” He’d probably known all along that he would though, for one so young he seemed to be incredibly work orientated, that was perhaps a rather sad thing. Still, the captain no doubt had his reasons, and Ukitake was more than happy to offer support when needed… Even if it was rarely actually wanted.
Shifting his attention as he felt Kurotsuchi and Yumichika arrive he nodded his head slightly in approval, it seemed this had worked far better than he’d have perhaps expected. If there was one thing he felt a form of despondence for it was that Shunsui had not turned up, that would have very easily added something more to this whole thing. Still, he couldn’t exactly demand the man come, he was probably busy catching up with work he’d procrastinated on. It was all to bad really, but still, there was absolutely no chance that Ukitake was going to let this drag his mood down at all. He was darn going to enjoy this whole festival based on the giving of candy, and he was very obviously going to make sure that everyone else did too. Yes he knew most of the people were going to be less than happy when they found out that this really was, but everyone needed a break at times and this seemed to be the perfect way to deal with it all. Just as long as he didn’t end up with the eleventh squad hunting him down for fooling their captain he was sure it would work out well… Maybe.
“It’s good that so many of you are here, thank you all!” He hollered out through the fog that would still no doubt leave him mostly hidden from the eye. “I’m sorry I dragged you all out here at this hour, but I felt it was necessary.” The problem here was that his form of necessity in these matters probably didn’t match up so well with that of most every soul reaper here, you couldn’t have everything though. “I’m sure most of you are aware of the human celebration of all hallows eve,” he started off. No doubt there would be numerous groans, sighs, and of course the good ol’ facepalm, but he was all too likely to stay oblivious to it and carry on with his talk. “Also called Halloween. Well it’s tonight~” They knew, oh they no doubt knew that little bombshell was going to hit them just about as soon as he’d started talking about a festival. “Due to its… Well some of its base beliefs it does seem rather appropriate for us as Soul Reapers to celebrate it.” Jovial and upbeat, despite the utter regret the others would now feel at coming his voice was as happy as ever. “So I threw this whole thing together and asked you all to come!” Lied to get them to come may have been more accurate depending on how you looked at it. In his eyes though this was an important meeting, just not to the same degree that everyone else had very likely been expecting. “Have fun all of you~” To that he gave a sharp whistle, one that was shortly followed by numerous bright flashes in the sky that seemed to make the fog glow oddly. Ah, there was nothing better than some good old Shiba fireworks to add some spark to a party.

Kenpachi heard the answer to a question he said to himself not too long ago. It had seemed Ukitake had heard his words and responded. A disappointment to Kenpachi to say the least, after all, he loved his fighting. Loved. So Kenpachi's day was ruined as far as he was concerned, unless something came up that allowed him to fight. So this is a party. What the hell is a party without fighting?! I don't understand this lot sometimes. Ugh. What a buzz-kill...In the training grounds. And. I. Can't. Use. It. For. Its. Main. Purpose. This is sh-- Kenpachi's thought were cut in half as soon as a ridiculously loud shriek caught him off guard, irritating his eardrums, and even causing a small constant beeping noise to go off in his head for a while. "Yachiru...That's the second time in the last two weeks, you'll break my ear drums at this rate..." Kenpachi groaned, although not fully meaning it.
Kenpachi did not feel or hear Yachiru hop up onto his back, but he could tell she had by her presence, after all they have been together for years and have grown a strong father-daughter like relationship, an unusual one perhaps as they both are Shinigami and extremely powerful, but still a strong bond. Wondering what to do, seeming as he could not fight, he scanned the area for any sake, he needed a drink for this boring place. However something mysterious caught his eye. It was unusual, weird even and he had never seen something like it before. Kenpachi approached it...
Getting within arms reach of it, he stared at it. These things that were multi-colored and covered by a see-through wrapper. A label next to the pile said "candy". What the hell is this stuff? Kenpachi questioned in his head with a perplexed look on his face. Touching one, he picked one up and unwrapped it carefully, then slotted it in his mouth...
"Average." Kenpachi mumbled to himself, he had never tasted anything like it before, but it was decent, nothing special to him. Going over to the sake, he grabbed a cup and poured some sake into it from the large jar that was there. Drinking it slowly, he spotted there were quite a few captains here, including his 5th seat, Yumichika. Kenpachi decided to wait for him to come over, as Kenpachi could not be bothered to move over to him.
"Remind me why I am staying here Yachiru." Kenpachi told Yachiru, who like him had nothing better to do.

Yachiru was finally becoming aware of her surroundings, and from the comments of the arriving mix of Captains and their subrdinates, she quickly gathered that this was a party. She barely paid any mind to the others, hearing Ukitake's words "“Ah, Yachiru! I haven’t seen you for a while, I was starting to worry about you. If you find me later tonight I’m sure I can find some candy for you~" She beamed cheerfully at him, nodding excitedly.
She zoned out a bit again, watching Kenpachi and studying some of the other Captains as Ukitake explained why they had gathered. She smiled at the idea of Halloween, a human holiday that was basically about candy, and there wasn't much she loved more than candy. She smiled at Kenpachi, watching his actions. She giggled as he tried the candy, but didn't seem interested in it at all.
She guessed that maybe Kenpachi had a bit of a sweet tooth hidden under all that toughness, but she also guessed he had more of a taste for alcohol, something she personally didn't like much.
"Remind me why I am staying here Yachiru."
She giggled at Kenpachi "Because Ken-chan, it's a party, and there's candy. NO ONE misses a party with Candy." She moved up his shoulder somewhat, to lean against it, and look around the room. Spotting Yumichika she flapped an arm wildly, waving to him. "YUMICHIKA!" She called happily, flapping her arm like she was going to take flight "Over heeereeee!"
