One's life was often revolved around work. There was never and end to it, and lately at all seemed to just... accumulate. No matter how much work someone put in, more just seemed to flow in at a quick pace. Though since it was part of the daily grind, it had to be done, no matter what. No excuses, just do what your told. A simple thing really, but something hard to abide by. Perhaps this was all just part of the whole scandal that was going on in the World of the Living. What had arisen there had certainly put most in a scare. It was stressing to say the least, and quite a bother. Though personally not much thought had been put into resisting it. That was not going to do anything to change the fact that this just added more pressure and more work to the squads. Alas, no one seemed to get the message that everyone was complaining about it. But how could it be helped? It was natural for the work amount to increase because of an epidemic that was currently occurring.
Aside from the hassles of work, the problem with the World of the living had been going on for quite a while, yet, no one has really spoken a word about it. The tall man thought indifferently about it all. It wasn't something that really concerned him, when really, it should. But what did it matter? How would something like mere Hollow attacks phase his interest? It didn't, because it simply wasn' something he found much of a problem in. Had they actually needed him, he would respond, but they did not. They responded with the child captain of the tenth. So it seemed that they did need to resort to a captain or assistance with this. Either way, he was no longer affected, and despite what he currently thought of the whole situation, he was involved in some way. He was going to carry out his duty, whether he liked it or not. It was the law.
Walking at a steady pace through the corridors of the division headquarters, an unmoving face was carried along. It was the middle of the day yet it seemed to quiet. The captain could only assume it was because of all the work he was forced to place upon them, but had no choice. Nor did he have pity. It was something that must be done, and not a second thought should be put into doing it. He had a feeling someone would complain about it, and that person had a very high chance of it being Renji, despite the fact he usually seemed unphased about it. He was an oddball that one. Walking out through the shoji doors onto the veranda. It was still rather early. Had he not been keeping track of the time, he would not have known what time of day it was. The clouds covered the sky like a dark gray sheet, not allowing the rays of the sun to seep through.
Though no rain, sleet, snow, or cloud would affect his mood or actions. A gust of wind flowed in as it carried a chilled air with it. Perhaps it wasn't quite... the best of ideas to walk out on to the veranda, but perhaps such a stroll was needed. For one, he needed to check on everyone to see if their duties were being carried out, and second, it helped ease his mind. He crossed his arms, each one slipping into the other's sleeve and continued his pace. His scarf and hamaka billowed with the gusts of wind while his black hair whipped at his face. Though perhaps, the sting of the cold against his skin would help him stay awake for longer periods of time. Not that he was necessarily tired, but just to reassure that he would not feel so. Nature helped one in strange ways. To many it brought happiness through the beauty it brings, yet restoration through the life it takes and a chance to renew.
The bitterness of winter was a fine example of the cycle of nature. His slate blue gaze fell upon a group of cherry trees that had its flowers wither through the harsh weather. They would blossom again in the spring. Things often worked like that in typical life as well. But with major events that had been going on through the year, trying to improve on solving all this was becoming rather problematic. The issue with the World of the Living was simply that it was infested with Hollows. He felt like no one was really putting the effort into stopping those grotesque things. That or the Hollows have just been getting used to the gist of things. Whatever the case, Byakuya had to know, only because he needed to be on top of something like this. This sort of problem had a certain twist to it that made it all the more much more complicated. It was a frustrating concept that perhaps would need more than one mind to figure out, but of course, he wanted to see if he was on top of all the information. He knew he wasn't.
