((Starting it here since this is where it will end up.))
Two weeks had passed since his first run-in with a Hollow, and a week and a half since he was taken home by Kusaka. He hadn't seen his mysterious classmate since then, or anyone but his father and sisters for that matter. One, Isshin wouldn't let Ichigo outside in his condition, and two, even if he was allowed, he wouldn't want to. The transition to a constant dip of pain medication to just pills left him sore and unwilling to move from his room. He spent most of his time brooding while laying on his bed. Sore as he was, it was the boredom that was driving him to madness more quickly. He'd run out of things he was physically able to do.
With a sigh, Ichigo carefully sat up and swung his legs over the side of his bed. His head spun at the sudden change in altitude, causing him to hold it in one of his hands. Once the lightheadedness went away, he stood up and walked to his desk. He would try to recall everything Kusaka had said about Hollows. Things had been fuzzy ever since that first meeting in the hospital. Drugs had put his mind in a fog, made him lose some of the information.
After chewing on the eraser for a minute, Ichigo began to write. 1. Break the mask to kill it. He remembered that one easily. He'd been told that when he wasn't under the influence of pain medication. But the other facts were all jumbled. 2. Hollows love strength. 3. Kusaka has dealt with them before. Not important. Although...how is it that he's seen them before? Ichigo hmmed to himself before shaking his head. This was about the Hollows, the threat, not Kusaka. Kusaka came later. 3. Hollows eat souls. But why? And how? He sighed and began hitting his head against the desk, an action that soon gave hi a pounding headache. Sitting up was aggravating his side too.
He reached out for the pill bottle and read the directions. Take one every 2-4 hours as needed for pain. When had he taken the last one? He looked at the clock. Sigh. Only an hour ago. Isshin would notice if he'd taken an extra one. He'd have to bear with it for now. Ichigo got up an hobbled to his bed, laying down when he got there. He rubbed his temples with his fingers, trying to make the headache subside. He simultaneously tried to recall the facts Kusaka had given him about Hollows, and why he and Kusaka could see them and ghosts. That probably didn't help his throbbing head much. After realizing that he gave up on trying.
Then, an odd sight came in through the window. A butterfly, black as the night sky outside. He stared at it as it fluttered through his room and lighted on the back of his chair. He just stared at it, wondering where it had come from.
If only he knew what, or rather, who, was about to appear. His life would never be the same.

Night, a time when things came to an end, the day drawing to a close, ending the hardness of work for most and leading towards a more restful time. For some perhaps it was nothing more than to sit down with their families and relax in their company, for others there was the inevitable realm of dreams that came with sleep. The moon cast its luminescent glow upon the silence of the town, giving it an almost eerie feel perhaps as the light danced across the rooftops. Black hair shimmered in the moonlight as a young girl moved across the rooftops with grace and speed, her feet making a light clacking sound upon the slate roofs as she ran. There was a hollow nearby, there was no mistaking the spiritual pressure and the young soul reaper had sprung into action immediately on sensing it.
There had been a lot of hollow activity of late, though why she was still unsure. There had been a few rumours floating around, but nothing solid, nothing that told her much about anything really, even the Captains seemed to know very little....but perhaps they knew somewhat more than they let on. It was not something that the young soul reaper had put a lot of thought into though, there were more important things to deal with than just the information, the hollows for one, after all, they were the biggest problem for now. Rukia paused upon one of the rooftops, dark eyes scanning the surrounding buildings, it was close, that much she could tell...but where...something was off about this, though she wasn’t entirely sure what, it hadn’t been easy tracking the hollows spiritual pressure, but so far she had managed to keep track of it for the most part, but for some reason she was still having difficulty pin-pointing its exact location...strange.
“It’s close...” she whispered quietly to the night air before continuing her run, jumping from rooftop to rooftop with the greatest of ease. This was the job of a soul reaper, among others, to exorcise hollows, creatures that devoured the souls of others, a hollow could be taken down permanently by destroying its mask, a task that seemed simple enough, but it was never as easy as it sounded...nothing ever was. The young soul reaper frowned somewhat as she came to a stop by the side of a building....this couldn’t be right, could it? The hollow’s spiritual pressure was strong and whilst she could sense it....she still had not seen it, but it felt close...perhaps closer than she thought? It was confusing, but the young girl chose not to think on that too much as she jumped up onto another rooftop before passing through a wall her eyes fixated ahead of her, not really taking much interest in what was around her, or that there was another presence in the room, or the fact that she was standing on a desk for that matter she merely stepped down onto the floor beneath her, her hand shifting to rest on the hilt of her zanpakuto....this was very strange.

he sight of such a darkly-colored butterfly was nothing compared to what happened next. A teenager clothed in black robes stepped out of the wall and stood on Ichigo's table. She was light-skinned with black hair and purple eyes. She would have been cute were it not for her garb and her entrance. That automatically marked her as not only a wierdo, but a threat. On top of that, she had a sword. She placed her hand on the hilt, making Ichigo sit bolt upright and scoot away from her on his bed. "Put that thing away!"
She stepped off the desk, back to him. She looked like she was searching for something. Was she a burglar? Ichigo grabbed his pillow and got up. He swung the pillow with all his might, aiming to sock the stranger on the head with it. "That's as far as you go!" If he managed in knocking her down from the blow, he would get on his knees and hold her down by holding one of her hands behind her back. The whole time he would be holding the pillow in his other hand, ready to hit her again if she tried anything funny.
However, if she somehow dodged the surprise attack, he would jump back to avoid retaliation, then hold the pillow in front of him like a shield. "Who the hell are you, barging into somebody's house like this?!" That question would be asked no matter the outcome of his attempt to bring the stranger down. He'd be freaked out if she'd appeared out of any wall, but the fact that she appeared through a wall lading to his room made it even weirder.

(OOC: Admittedly not my best work, I could have waited till my muse was better but I didn't want to hold the thread up)
Everything was quiet...a little too quiet perhaps, the calm before that inevitable storm. Why was this so difficult? Hollows were not usually this good at masking themselves, and even if she sensed its pressure the thought lingered in her mind....the continuous notion that something really wasn’t right with this, it wasn’t something tangible, and yet it was there, niggling at the back of her mind. “Strange” she said quietly, dark eyes finally moving to take in briefly what she saw before her...just a room, nothing more, and no hollow either, though perhaps in a way that was a small mercy, for whomever lived here anyway. Whilst hollows would usually only wish to gorge themselves upon the souls of the dead, there were occasions when they would feed on the souls of the living which frankly was the least present scenario, still, it wasn’t here, time to keep moving.
Just as the young soul reaper was about to move and make her exit from this place, something smacked her in the head and she took an involuntary step forward, her expression mildly shocked momentarily. "That's as far as you go!" What the.....Turning sharply the young girl once more placed her hand upon the hilt of her Zanpakuto, prepared to attack whatever it was that had hit her...except when she turned around, what she saw before her was not exactly what she had been expecting. Dark eyes scanned over the form of the young boy who was apparently holding a pillow...no doubt the object that had struck her...but wait a minute...humans weren’t supposed to be able to see soul reapers, so how had he managed to hit her in the first place? The fact that he was staring right at her didn’t really sink in at first but she released her grip on her Zanpakuto, her expression still more or less confused and shocked.
"Who the hell are you, barging into somebody's house like this?!" Those words pretty much clinched it in her mind....he really could see her, but frankly that only added to the amazement...this human was definitely not ordinary, at least by human standards anyway. “Y-You can see me...” she said finally completely ignoring exactly WHAT he had said, dwelling more on the fact that he was directing those words towards her. It was certainly not something she had come across before, after all, most humans were completely oblivious to the presence of soul reapers and in the time she had been one she couldn’t say that a situation like this had ever arisen. Rukia frowned somewhat and continued to stare at him, her expression becoming a little more thoughtful....first the hollow and now this boy...things seemed to be getting stranger by the minute.

((EFF I'm sorry for taking so long.))
“Y-You can see me...”
Ichigo bared his teeth and narrowed his eyes. Was this girl for real? How could I miss you in that crazy getup! You got a lotta nerve wearing something like that sober!" Ichigo set the pillow down and sat on his bed. He noticed the sword had been let go, so he was a little calmer. Still, he had to get to the bottom of this kid.
He crossed his arms and stared her down. He'd give her a little time to answer his question before he asked it again. Try...a minute. If she didn't talk it would be a rather awkward silence. It would be broken by Ichigo getting up and stretching to his full height over her. "Are you gonna tell me who the HELL you are?...WELL?" She'd better do it, and fast. Ichigo was pissed off and he had one hell of a kick.

From the look on his face the young boy obviously wasn’t very pleased to find her invading his room and she could understand that, at least to some degree, but she didn’t really have time to deal with his feelings on the situation quite frankly, there were more pressing matters at hand. “How could I miss you in that crazy getup! You got a lotta nerve wearing something like that sober!" The young soul reaper raised an eyebrow somewhat at him, her expression becoming somewhat annoyed, so rude....was this typical human behaviour or was it merely this boys own attitude, either way she cared very little for his tone but for the moment she decided to ignore it, focussing more on the situation at hand, mostly the fact that the hollows spiritual pressure had miraculously disappeared for the moment and the fact that this boy was able to see her.
“Strange...I don’t sense anything unusual about you” she said quietly, more saying it to herself than directing it towards him, it was true, there wasn’t anything unusual about him, or at least nothing she could sense, still, if he could see her it was reasonable to assume that he had some amount of spiritual energy and that only made her more curious. "Are you gonna tell me who the HELL you are?...WELL?" Dark purple eyes met brown as Rukia frowned deeply, he definitely had no manners. “Do you really want to know?” she asked her tone somewhat dark as her expression became more neutral. It wasn’t exactly a secret, but it wasn’t something she felt that a human could understand fully and from what she had already learned of this particular human it seemed likely that he definitely wasn’t going to understand it.
